Air Seeders 18SR
Gason introduced an all new 6000 litre 1860 SR Air Seeder to its range in late 2006, with production of the first machines now complete and ready to go.
This new machine fills a gap in the market between the 1850 (5000 litre) and 1880 (8000 litre) models. The design of the 1860 air seeder takes full advantage of the SR (side release) meterbox. The SR meterbox was released two years ago, and has proven to be an accurate and user friendly metering system. It offers easy access and reduced change over times when going from one product to the next.
The 1860 air seeder now becomes the smallest machine fitted with the SR meterbox, having a total bin capacity of 6200 litres for the two-bin, and 6490 litres for the three-bin.
Incorporating a truss system, the 1860 seeders trailer frame is incredibly strong, with heavy-duty removable rear stub axles to complement the sturdiness of the unit.
A number of different machine configurations and optional equipment is available, which allows the 1860 to be tailored to suit the needs of most operations.
Rear tow and front tow versions are available. They are supplied with two metre controlled traffic wheel centres as standard, with three metre centres available as an option. The rear tow versions also have three different front wheel steering/castor wheel systems to suit most situations.
The SR meterbox's can be driven by either the ever popular ground drive system, or utilise the latest in technology with the hydraulically powered VRT (variable rate technology) monitor and control pod.
A large and efficient 8” auger can be fitted to the seeder for fast filling. The same auger can also be used to empty the bins of seed and fertiliser.
The 1860 is fitted with safe walkways and handrails, along with two external work lights. An innovative feature is the offset design of the filler openings. This allows the operator to open and close the lids and hold filler tubes in place without leaning over, an important OH&S consideration.
The release of the new Gason 1860 SR air seeder, as well as our recent introduction of the 2150 (15000 litre) and 1890 (9000 litre) machines provides a broad range of Gason seeding equipment complete with side release meterbox, and direct or variable rate drive.
