The following criteria must be considered before buying a container ramp:

• Overall dimensions - Based on the dimensions of the container, ground condition and load, the overall dimension of the ramp should be sufficient for safe unloading and loading.
• Ramp material - The ramp material should be strong enough to resist the high external compression and fatigue caused by the loads. 
• Load capacity - The ramps are designed to resist particular loads so the load capacity should be known before making a purchase.

Container ramps require little maintenance until some parts break due to wear or an accident. General cleaning includes keeping the ramp dust free, having no oil or lubricant on the top surface, and no sharp edges or external objects on the top surface that can damage the forklift or goods being loaded.
