Becker Proximity Detection System | ICAS ...
An affordable, full “situational awareness” surface mine collision avoidance solution. Designed to deliver advance warnings to drivers and mining personnel operating on mining sites of approaching vehicles or fixed plant.
Features
The ICAS System is a GPS – VHF based solution that uses proven GPS (Global Positioning Systems) technology to detect the position of all surrounding HV, MV, LV and Fixed Equipment from as far as 20km away. Once detected, the system uses an it’s in-built vehicle to vehicle or portable mounted, secure, VHF wireless networking system and configurable alarm scenarios to activate surrounding ICAS systems. By using an intelligent display, mix of audio and visual alerts, timely warnings are delivered to drivers and mine workers, thereby reducing the likelihood of accidents and near misses arising from insufficient reaction time and lack of situational awareness.
The ICAS System is GPS and completely wireless; ICAS can be located, relocated or added to, as required to suit specific safety requirements. Once turned on, the ICAS systems inbuilt wireless network automatically establishes itself, detects and displays all ICAS and virtual ICAS systems in proximity real time. A portable ICAS or tri-pod mounted advance warning system can be given to mine site workers and temporary contractors. Site supervisors can quickly identify, check and track the whereabouts of all installed ICAS system devices.
The System is rich in safety features, requires minimal training to install, use and manage. ICAS can be quickly setup in a wide range of vehicle and mine work site applications covering areas of up to and >20km. It’s simple, modular design, and very low cost makes the system the perfect workplace safety enhancement solution for any area where there is a risk associated with the interaction of people, vehicles, mobile and fixed plant.
