The ABD steering robots are used throughout the world for running the FMVSS126 spin-out test. The test was designed by NHTSA to measure the propensity of a vehicle to spin due to a large steering input.
The ABD SR60 steering robot meets the speed and torque requirements suggested by NHTSA for steering machines that are appropriate for running the test.
The robot controller software now has an FMVSS- 126 testing module option which guides the user through performing the tests upon a vehicle to the NHTSA standard.
The setup and test module includes:
- Automatic test configuration
- Integrated post processing routine that will calculate the parameter values from the Slowly Increasing Steer test for use in the in the spinout test.
- Automated presentation of FMVSS126 results
