Fronius Compact MMA Welder | TP125-10 VRD ...
This Fronius has mine safety welded on.
In the red corner, competing in the lightweight division and weighing in at just 4.7 kg, comes the most compact MMA welder in the Fronius range - the TP125-10 VRD (Voltage Reduction Device).
But don't be fooled by its diminutive size and light weight. This little red devil might just be the next world champion when it comes to welding safety in Australian mines and other potentially hazardous enclosed areas.
Australia has some of the toughest standards for mine welding safety in the world. The Fronius TP125-10 VRD has been designed in direct response to the mines OH&S safety demands - and then some.
As an example, check the safety critical aspect of open circuit voltage. Australian standards demanded a maximum of 35V open circuit voltage at the electrode when a MMA VRD machine is not welding. The Fronius response? The TP125-10 VRD is 12V - three times lower than the standard.
When the welding circuit resistance is greater than 200 ohms (for example when touching the human body) open circuit voltage is limited to 12V. VRD is active within 0.3 seconds after welding stops.
In another safety in mines initiative, the entire unit is now also double insulated with a durable, welding spark resistant, polycarbonate cover to offer world's best safety practice to the welding operator.
The TP125 has a 125 Amp DC output, 10 amp 240 volt supply MMA and TIG inverters and built with new-generation Resonance Intelligence Technology.
Other key features include:
To top it all off, the TP125-10 VRD function is fail to safe. If the open circuit voltage exceeds 12V on start up the machine will simply not weld. And finally when you want to get welding, there is not the constant fatigue of having to hold down buttons in order to continually weld.
Other features include:
Dave Smith, Manager of SMENCO Pty Ltd, Australian distributors for Fronius, said the company was proud to have met and exceeded the requirements for welding operations in Australian mines.
"It has made Fronius the welder of choice for many leading Australian mine sites," he said.
