WHAT IS IT?
The DI2 is a loop powered display module, designed to accept and be powered by a 4-20mA or 10-50mA input. Originally supplied in a standard DIN panel mount housing of 96mm x 48mm x 78mm (Width x Height x Depth), it is now available as a weatherproof housing. Alternate weatherproof enclosure is equipped with an IP65 rating and 25mm digit height LCD display.
WHY WAS IT MADE?
The Panel mount DI2 was the first instrument ever innovated by Innovec Controls in 1987, simply because we could. The instrument was created for a client within the process control industry, to aid in the monitoring of water levels, flow and other liquid treatment processes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Innovec DI2 is a loop powered display, meaning it utilises input current to power itself without requiring main or battery power to run. We implemented a loop powered circuit into this instrument to negate the requirement of mains power chords as well as creating a safer instrument with a low voltage circuit. Using the same input/output lines allows the DI2 the ability to monitor and advise obtained data via a 12.5mm LCD display to personnel.
