In dry running vacuum pumps the residual traces of gas will only be molecules of the initial process gas, but for liquid operation pumps this residual gas can be vaporized water, oil or other liquid required for pump operation.

• Consider specialized application requirements - Specialized applications include roughing pumps in multi staged high or ultra-high vacuum systems, applications that require small pump form factor, advanced monitoring capabilities, etc.
