The company began trading in 1980 as Newcastle Scientific Supplies, catering for the special needs of customers with laboratories in Newcastle and the surrounding Hunter Valley.

With the key philosophy of providing high quality service and products at a competitive price, the company rapidly gained a loyal customer base which included some of Australia’s largest companies and scientific institutions. Many of whom still purchase from us today.

Although little effort was made initially to spread beyond the local region, it rapidly became apparent that the type of services and products which we offered were popular with a broader customer base. Within a relatively short period of time orders were being received from laboratories throughout Australia and in sympathy with this trend the company changed its name to Australian Scientific Pty Ltd.

With the acquisition of some highly competitive agency lines, strong positive efforts were made to expand marketing operations Australia-wide with heartening success.

Australian Scientific Pty Ltd’s management team has remained stable throughout it’s long period of operation. This has enabled key relationships with customers including large and small companies and government organisations to remain constant for more than three decades.
