PVC has a good mechanical strength and can be easily machined, drilled, milled and tapped. Laser cutting is not recommended on PVC sheets due to the fumes released; however CNC routing can be achieved with no fumes. Moisture absorption of PVC is low and can be bonded to other surfaces by using general purpose epoxy resin.
Due to its anti-corrosive properties PVC is extensively used in the manufacture of chemical tanks, chrome plating and photographic development dishes. Industrial PVC is generally grey in colour, however, there is also White PVC sheets available in some thicknesses, as well as red PVC Rods.
For applications where transparency is important Allplastics can supply Clear PVC Sheets and Tubes. These are commonly used for fume cupboards, chemical sight glasses and chemical tanks. Allplastics will also provide custom extrusions in PVC for your large projects.
