8 channel Fieldbus Foundation temperature transmitter
Endresss+Hauser’s new iTEMP TMT125 is an economical solution for multi-temperature measuring points as found in distillation columns and bioreactors, as well as for normal process plants. This universal temperature transmitter features eight input channels for resistance thermometers (RTD), thermocouples (TC), resistance (Ohm) and voltage transmitters (mV) and each input can be configured individually.

First edition PROFIBUS PA book now available
The latest book “PROFIBUS PA” by Christian Diedrich, Thomas Bangemann and several co-authors is now available. This book is a must read for all who need in-depth information about PROFIBUS in process industries. It is just as useful for developers of process automation devices as for planners, end-users or maintenance staff.

FieldCare Condition Monitoring
FieldCare is based on the FDT/DTM standard and this technology provides engineers with the freedom to integrate field and communication components supplied by all complying third parties. FieldCare is thus able to configure all intelligent field devices in the plant and support the user in managing them.

Ecograph T Paperless Recorder
With the new Ecograph T, Endress+Hauser are offering a paperless recorder with an exceptional price/performance ratio. The multipurpose device incorporates up to six universal inputs – TC, RTD, mA, mV, V and one impulse/digital input for event messages or recording start/stop. Featuring unit dimensions (w x h x d) of 144mm x 144mm x 170mm, the compact Ecograph T saves space and has a shallow installation depth.

Ethernet in Process Plants
At first glance, Ethernet may seem out of place in process industries. With high data rate and large bandwidth, Ethernet is a stark contrast to established process fieldbus protocols such as Profibus PA, HART and Foundation Fieldbus H1. In reality, industrial Ethernet will not likely replace process fieldbuses directly. Rather, it will augment their functionality by providing integration into a network based on the same standard Ethernet as used in the rest of a companys network infrastructure.

High performance Promag 55S flowmeter for slurries
The latest addition to the Endress+Hauser Proline flowmeter family, the Promag 55S, has arrived. This model is a high performance electromagnetic flowmeter specifically designed for harsh ‘slurry’ applications as found in mining, paper and pulp, fruit/vegetable mash, and can even handle entrained air (bubbles) and non-homogeneous liquids.

Prosonic Flow 91W flowmeter
Endress+Hauser have developed a clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter for the water and wastewater industries. The Prosonic Flow 91W flowmeter is the most recent addition to the company’s proven Proline Prosonic Flow family and is designed to meet the requirements for hot and cold water applications.

Improving hygiene standards will reduce costly problems
As consumer appetite for a greater variety of food increases, so does the demand on Australian food manufacturers. Well-worn manufacturing equipment therefore, is at risk of becoming inoperational or even failing altogether causing difficult problems for this ‘hygienic’ food industry.

Vortex flowmeters eliminate low-flow problems
Steam is an essential process ingredient across a wide range of process industries, from power generation, food and beverage, chemicals to paper and pulp. Increasingly, in most process plants and utilities, steam is supplied by specialist third-party providers. The accurate and reliable measurement of steam is therefore critical to a plant’s cost-effectiveness.

Simplified viscosity measurement boosts plant productivity and saves money
Bendotti Exporters, WA’s biggest potato chip processor, has recently installed an Endress+Hauser Promass 83I Coriolis flowmeter to measure viscosity resulting in an improvement in plant productivity and significant production cost savings.

Coriolis flowmeters are ideal for metering oil
Precise measuring of oil flow is becoming ever more important. Because of the ever increasing oil prices, even small deviations can be quite expensive. Coriolis flow metering technology is well established for its accuracy and reliability. Oil metering systems based on Coriolis meters are compact because the meter does not require straight inlet runs, filters or strainers.

High accuracy Promass F reduces wastage
In any manufacturing process, the reduction of waste is central to increased profitability. A core requirement to accomplish waste reduction is accuracy in measurement. In the competitive and highly regulated food industry, for example, batches need to maintain consistency and quality and this requires accurate measurement of the various ingredients. Inaccurate measurements may lead to bad batches that need to go through an expensive reprocessing stage or worse, discarded.

Oxymax W COS21D Digital Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
Endress+Hauser have launched Oxymax W COS21D, the world’s first digital dissolved oxygen (DO) sensor incorporating Memosens technology.

Glass-Free ISFET pH Electrode with Memosens
The accurate measurement of pH in many processes is extremely critical as it directly impacts product quality and yield. Conventionally, glass electrodes were used to measure pH but the possibility of breakage poses a problem especially in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

New Conductivity & Concentration Measurement Sensor For Hygienic Applications - Conductivity Comes Clean
Endress+Hauser have just released a conductivity and concentration measurement sensor for hygienic applications. The newly-designed sensor features rapid response times for conductivity and temperature measurements, is fully sterilisable up to 125oC and 5 bar, is FDA approved, has surface roughness Ra≤0.8µm and incorporates explosion protection for use with organic solvents.

Level Measurement

Levelflex M guided radar level measuring unit
Endress+Hauser’s highly successful Levelflex M guided radar level measuring unit with patented End-of-Probe (EOP) Algorithm, SIL 2 rating, and as the only guided radar level measuring device with full IEC Ex approvals (Gas and Dust) make it a compelling choice for bulk solid applications.

Deltapilot S level sensor
The new Deltapilot S, incorporating the patented ConTite measuring cell, overcomes the shortcomings of using a conventional pressure or differential pressure (dp) transmitter to monitor liquid levels in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

Liquiphant M Level Detection Switches
It is critical that plant managers and engineers choose the right level detection switches as they can prevent the accidental discharge of toxic products into the environment. A well-selected, correctly-installed level switch will save companies the expense associated with treating and disposing of spilt material. Moreover, it will safeguard companies against punitive fines in the event of an unavoidable accident.

Tailings Thickening saves water – and costs - FMM50
Endress+Hauser has recently launched a low maintenance, reliable electromechanical system, the FMM50, which solves the historical shortcomings of other technologies when optimising bed level measurement in thickeners, settlers and clarifiers.

Cerabar S Pressure Transmitter Incorporates Distributed Control
Foundation Fieldbus is modeled on the concept that all devices can access all data from other devices connected to the bus network. This information is processed and managed using advanced programming in the form of Function Blocks. With the new Cerabar S, therefore, complete control of the process can be programmed in the pressure transmitter by linking a set of Function Blocks. Instead of merely providing a pressure measurement at the output, the Cerabar S can be transformed into a full PID controller with the ability to measure pressure as well as provide control for a process.

Instrumentation is key to sensible water management
With the lowest rainfall of all continents (excluding Antarctica), Australia is the world’s driest continent. Drought is a regular occurrence and we must increasingly look for innovative ways to effectively manage this ever-decreasing scarce resource. Instrumentation to measure, control and manage water plays a critical role in this process. Endress+Hauser have a range of sophisticated instruments that are widely used in plants and facilities across the country.
