RS Components is presenting itself as a provider of embedded systems products as part of plan to focus on its electronics distribution business.
The catalogue and online distributor has identified five technology areas where it will be introducing a range of board and system level products. Two are embedded wireless modules and display systems.
RS are offering evaluation boards and development kits with associated software. There are also antennas and transceivers for wireless technologies such as ZigBee, Bluetooth, RFID and GSM GPRS.
Other system-level product initiatives will be launched later in the year and the company will also increase the number of new-to-market product launches
Some of the wireless products on offer include 2.4GHz RF transceivers from Texas Instruments and Freescale Semiconductors, a Bluetooth front-end device from Atmel and an RFID transponder interface from NXP.
