Krauss Maffei of Munich, Germany - have launched a new AX series of fully electric Injection Moulding machines from 50 to 350 Tonnes clamp. The AX series has 75% greater energy efficiency and a 25% smaller footprint compared to a modern hydraulic machine.
The AX features a centrally-lubricated, low-maintenance, five point toggle for the clamp and a moving platen on precision roller bearing guides with friction up to 80% lower than a sliding support design. The high precision platen guides guarantee a high degree of platen parallelism, thereby extending the mould service life. The water-cooled converters are regenerative-capable, harvesting braking energy and controlling the servomotors with high efficiency.
The super-slim AX machine can be supplied as a complete production cell, with an integrated Krauss Maffei linear robot and safety housing. The proven operator friendly MC5 control system coordinates all machine functions together with the integrated robot via a real time Varan bus. This simplifies operation and provides a full fault diagnosis for all machine functions, increasing safety and reliability for operators and the machine.
The AX can be specified with the complete range of Krauss Maffei premium plasticizing units featuring swing-out function for ease of service.
The new AX machine series compliments the exising CX two platen hydraulic machine and the EX high speed electric Z toggle machine range.
