HARTING Pty Limited - The HARTING 5 row 160 way har-bus® 64 connector range for VME 64x systems is the extension of the DIN 41 612 standard 3 row 96 way C type connectors.

The additional 2 rows serve to adapt the system to applications where up to 160 contacts are required.

The concept of backwards compatibility, customary in software, was successfully applied to the har-bus® 64 connector system of HARTING. The 5 row har-bus® 64 connector is 100 % forwards and backwards compatible with type C connectors according to DIN 41 612.

The design of male and female connectors allows the mating of any combination of the 5 or the 3 row variants without any mechanical interference, thus reducing the costs for system maintenance and upgrades.

The feature of backwards compatibility facilitates a gradual update of existing Eurocard based systems without the additional costs of a complete system redesign. It is not necessary to replace conventional 96 pin based cards, as they remain pluggable into the 160 pin based racks.

The 2 additional rows of contacts offer new system features like higher data transfer rates, additional contacts for I/O, live insertion, plug and play and many more.

HARTING is the only manufacturer that offers the complete product range including male connectors, straight and right-angled female connectors, shrouds, cable connectors and housings.
