Whilst the current range of safety vests, workwear and related safety clothing provide important visual protection for wearers with its increasing use and acceptance there has been a growing requirement for safety clothing to additionally provide improved ventilation and breathability. Typically in working environments with hot and humid conditions such as mines, outdoors, physical and manual labour situations.

While still meeting the visual safety standards for traditional reflective tapes RFA’s perforated reflective tape now allows significant evaporation of personal perspiration and moisture.
This new product is unique to RFA with world patent applications covering its manufacture. It has undergone rigorous testing to ensure it meets all relevant standards. Three testing authorities CSIRO Textile Testing Laboratories, Vic Lab Pty Ltd and Forschungsinstitut, Hohenstein Germany have conducted the tests.
Results demonstrated that the water vapour permeability or ‘breathability” of the RFA perforated tape rated as very good.
The base material, Reflective Silver Transfer Film is sourced from industry leader 3M, ensuring the highest quality is maintained for this product. Importantly the new breathable reflective tape is available in both standard washable and industrial wash qualities.
RFA’s new perforated tape provides major benefits in work environments which are hot, humid and frequently outdoors. Safety reflective tape represents a major part of clothing (garment) coverage and reduces the breathability of clothing. Because the RFA reflective tape is permeable, compared with the traditional existing non permeable reflective tape, safety clothing and workwear now becomes “breathable”, providing a more comfortable working environment.
